Minnesota Wild Prospect Visits To Twin Cities & "State of Hockey"

Good news everyone: The NHL begins anew tonight! It has been a long 3.5 months since the Chicago Blackhawks ended last season hoisting Lord Stanley's Cup. It's been nearly five months since the Wild last played a (meaningful) game. While we'll have to wait another two days for Minnesota to kick things off, it's the most wonderful time of the year where everything is new and shiny and beautiful.

But enough about the NHL. This post is about Minnesota Wild prospects and when you can see them in the "State of Hockey."

This year is different because the AHL is also in play. Minnesota relocated its AHL franchise from Houston to Iowa in the off-season. While that is tough because the Aeros drew well and Houston is a great non-traditional hockey market, there are positives. The "State of Hockey's" borders have been expanded with the annexation of the Hawkeye State. Des Moines is now only a 4 hour drive from the Xcel Energy Center. Prospects can be seen.

That includes you Jason Zucker. For now anyways.

The Iowa Wild begin play October 12th against the Oklahoma City Barons and its full schedule can be found here. For a closer, in-state drive, here is when Minnesota Wild collegiate prospects will play games in Minnesota during the 2013-2014 season broken down by arena.
