Red Deer Rebels (WHL)/Minnesota Wild (???)

First Round, 10th Overall 2012 Draft
This season will mark the second straight year the teenager has begun the NHL season with the big club; sure, last year was the lockout shortened season, but he stayed with the team for some time to practice and presumably get hands-on development until he was sent back to Red Deer. While his NHL debut may get pushed back some, it does look like he'll be around for at least a handful of games.
Dumba's skillset, well as Lou Nanne put it, is "sick." A powerful and agile skater, has a huge point shot, and will absolutely bury opponents with massive open ice checks. Where the hands on teaching will come in is with the mental side of the game- his decision making can be suspect, and he'll need to learn to harness his talents to play at the NHL level- but the upside with Dumba is gigantic. The Brass raves about his competitive nature and his leadership qualities, so he is the kind of guy down the road you see wearing a letter on his sweater.
Matt Dumba has game breaking talent, which explains why Minnesota is being so nurturing in his development, but the question remains...
Is this a prank, or a terrific inside joke?
