FRB Top 20 Prospects: #11...Daniel Gunnarsson

Daniel Gunnarsson, Defense
Lulea (SEL)
6'5" 205 Pounds 4/15/1992
Fifth Round, 128th Overall 2012 Draft

Gunnarsson is a peculiar one; we, as the the North American Wild fans go, have seen him in passing at the Prospect Development Camp Scrimmages.  However, even though those scrimmages are essentially "Sunday hockey", it's easy to tell what Gunnarsson can bring to the table.
A terrific skater for his size, he's reminiscient of Brent Burns in the way he can attack and retreat with ease, in essence acting like a fourth forward. He may not be the most physical, but when you have the mobility and reach he has that can be just as effective; however the North American game shades more toward the physical side than the European game.
Gunnarsson has one more year left in Lulea, then you can bet your bottom dollar that the Minnesota Brass will to the ends of the Earth to get him to sign and come over for the 2014-15 season and begin his professional career on this side of the pond.
