It is safe to say the initial pro campaign for Brett Bulmer didn't go as well as the year previous, where he started the season with the big club and played in nine NHL games. Injuries ravaged Bulmer's season in Houston, although there is some prevailing sentiment that the kid thought he had a foot in the door already because of the nine game experiment.
Now with last year out of the way, it will be up to Bulmer to not only stay healthy, but to continue to play his big bodied game to a degree where he puts himself in line for a call up. He may not have the most natural offensive tools, but he can be such a distruptive force out on the ice with his physical play and jaw jacking. He's also very good at puck protection, which bodes well for him as it looks like Minnesota will be aiming to play more of a possession-style game this season.
